Charlie Gordon-Watson

Having grown up on a stud farm, horses have always been a passion for Charlie and his reputation as a fine horseman has helped him establish one of Europe’s most successful bloodstock agencies.

For over 35 years Charlie has been purchasing top-class bloodstock which continue to compete at the top level across the globe.

Among many career highlights Charlie has purchased 10 Classic winners, including Epsom Derby hero Kris Kin and 2000 Guineas winner King’s Best, and the winners of 63 Group 1 races.

In addition to an impressive yearling purchase record, Charlie has an exceptional mare purchase record, having bought the dams of world-class horses such as Dar Re Mi, Alexandrova, Magical Romance and War Command. He has also made many shrewd horses-in training buys, which include the winner of the Group 1 Hong Kong Derby (Brave Music) and Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes (Cape of Good Hope).

"Whats interesting is the talent, what is it about him that can still detect quality in the unbacked unraced thoroughbred and draw satisfied client eulogies from as mixed a bunch as Andrew Lloyd-Webber, John Magnier and American Ambassador Will Farish?"

Brough Scott for The Times

Will Douglass

Will has always been passionate about racing and has an extensive knowledge of racing and bloodstock. He joined Gordon-Watson Bloodstock in January 2010, having served his time working for some of the most respected professionals in the game. Time spent as assistant in Newmarket to trainers Luca Cumani and Ed Dunlop followed a stint with champion trainer David Hayes in Australia. In addition, he also gained valuable experience working for New England Stud in Newmarket and for Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand.

With this experience, it is no surprise that Will has built up an impressive CV and client base since joining Gordon-Watson Bloodstock. Among his horses in training acquisitions are dual Hong Kong Group 1 winner Peniaphobia, Group 1 winner Royal Performer, multiple Hong Kong Group winners Rise High and Doctor Geoff, US Grade 2 winner Nancy from Nairobi, Royal Ascot winners Simenon and Thanks Be, and top-flight performers in Qatar and Hong Kong, Playa Del Puente, More Than This, Izzthatright and Sir Arthur Dayne. Among his mare purchase highlights are America Nova the dam of Group 1 German 1000 Guineas winner Nyaleti and Cup Cake the dam of Grade 1 winner Suedois.

Will covers all aspect of racing and bloodstock and advises clients on private sales, auction purchases, bloodstock and racing management.
