Royal Ascot Review

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Out Do flew the flag for Gordon-Watson Bloodstock at Royal Ascot when taking the ultra-competitive Wokingham handicap in style on the Saturday of the meeting. The son of Exceed and Excel was purchased as a yearling for 55,000 Guineas by Charlie. He was chased home by another fellow Gordon-Watson purchase Polybius who was purchased at the Tattersalls horses in training sale 2016 and has done well under the care of David Simcock.

Barsanti ran the race of his life to be a slightly unlucky second in the Group 2 Hardwicke stakes. He was beaten only half a length by multiple Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Idaho. He remains an exciting horse and can be a potential Group 1 horse going forward. He was purchased as a yearling by Charlie.

Endless Acres also ran a career best when finishing a clear second in the Ascot Stakes on the first day of the meeting. The son of Champs Elysees a yearling purchase and trained to the minute by Charlie Fellowes put up a storming performance to finish a game second. Hopes are high he can now become a stayer to follow going forward.
